This week I was working on a project that I had hoped to finish by the week’s end. I got so close and I got most of it to work, I just couldn’t find the hardware around the squadron to get that last part to work. I’m going to see if I can’t scrounge one up on Monday and get that project completed and finalized.
My flight commander now wants me to move desks out of the training section and into the flight section. We were walking around finding the empty cubes and I noticed that some of the empty ones have nicer computers and monitors than the ones with people in them. I’m going to hunt one of those down and move it to my new desk. There is no reason that an empty desk should have a nicer setup than the one I will be sitting in.
Yesterday a couple of us met up and had dinner together because we wanted to hang out. It was nice to be able to be around the other people at work that are my age without … you know … being at work. This morning, we met up and went to church together at a really awesome place. It was pretty tailored to our age group which was an enormous improvement over some of the other places I’ve been to. There are a lot of churches around here that cater to the families and older generations that are around here.
I’ve got one more week at home before I head out for more training. That’s six weeks of fun in sunny Alabama. The weather there had better be warm, I don’t think I’m up for another stint of cold weather!
