Monday, and back in school
Chemistry then Calc II then Econ then AS121. Busy day, huh? It actually isn’t too bad. Wednesday’s are worse. I ran a mile in 7.30 today. That is not bad for someone who was at over 8.45 just three weeks ago. I am going to try to keep shaving that so I will be able to pass my PF test the first time around. The biggest thing for me is going to be the push ups. I really don’t like them, but there is not a lot to do about that. As I write this, I am listening to Third Day’s CD Wire. Great CD, I recommend it to just about anybody. I was looking at Wikipedia today at some random things. I was amazed at how good the encyclopedia is. Think about it, this is an over one million entry online encyclopedia that is quickly gaining popularity and it now an acceptable resource that is universally recognized as a valid source of information. For those who don’t know of Wikipedia, it is an encyclopedia in which any person in the world can change/edit/add an entry with no fee or reason. If you follow normal rules, it should not be as good as it is. It is made and edited by anyone with a keyboard and internet access, there is no incentive to make your entry perfect and there is no quality control for those who want to vandalize the system. (You can get banned from the site, but nothing else.) There are a lot of theories about why it is so good, but I don’t agree with any of the ones I have seen thus far. I am not saying I am the one who came up with this theory; I just have not seen anyone else voice it yet. I think there is a personal sense of pride in checking out an entry you created or edited and seeing that what you put is still there. That inspires people to put good, well-researched entries up because ones that are not will soon be edited and corrected. That is why it is so darn good.
